purchasing a home - what you get with dunpar homes

These days, you hear a lot about the booming housing market and the speed at which homes are built and sold. What you don’t hear much about is building quality.

But construction quality is one of the most important things to look for in a new home. In fact, TARION was started for that reason — to ensure that new homes and condos were constructed with durability and quality in mind.

Build quality is something John Zanini, president of Dunpar Homes, takes seriously. For over 30 years he has renovated and built in the GTA, including several award-winning communities of townhomes and semis, always in areas close to local amenities.

Streetsville Centre is one of the newest communities by Dunpar Homes that offers custom quality for standard price. Exteriors are of hand-tumbled brick and Indiana limestone, with cove molding details under the eaves, windows with surface-mount muntin bars, cedar-shingled porticos, precast window sills, real fieldstone planter boxes, and decks fitted with gas lines and water lines. Landscaping is included and in the interests of maintenance-free living, snow ploughing and salting right up to front door is provided.

Each Dunpar home, whether town or semi, is framed separately, like two separate houses would be with 2×4 construction and two layers of insulation on both sides. All windows are insulated with spray foam before drywall is put on, all beams are tongue and groove I-beams, an engineered product for greater support.

As for architecture, the town home blocks are stepped back and forward for increased visual interest. Each home includes two-car parking and foyer at ground level which frees up valuable space on the main level for spacious living, dining and kitchen areas and unimpeded furniture placement. High ceilings – 9’6” on the main and 9’ on the loft floor in a smooth finish – create volume adding to the sense of space.

On the main floor the living room is pre-wired for surround sound, the kitchen has cabinets with extended uppers and granite counters. Executive towns have sliding glass doors leading to the deck while back to back towns have a rooftop deck; both decks have gas BBQ lines.

Spacious loft floor master bedrooms accommodate a queen size beds and night tables, and come with large ensuites and walk-in closets. Zanini personally oversees all the floorplans: “We build from the inside out – that is what works from the inside, for living, is reflected on the outside. And every square inch has been planned to work.”

Every Dunpar home is backed by Tarion’s comprehensive warranty. Each new home is covered under the One Year and Two Year Warranty Protection against defects in work and materials, as well as the Seven-Year warranty against major structural defects. In many cases, Dunpar homes exceed Tarion’s stringent requirements.

When buying a new home, it always pays to do your research and compare housing. We’re pretty sure you’ll find nothing else that compares to a Dunpar Home.
