How To Have The Best Looking House This Holiday Season

Christmas is a perfect time to let your creative imagination run wild to give your home a stellar holiday fantasy design – inside and out.

Be on everyone’s “drive by” homes list this holiday season by giving your home’s exterior a festive glow!

Once you’ve decided on a colour theme – a bit more modern like blue, pink and purple, or more traditional like red, green and gold – you can start to decorate in grand fashion or with an understated elegance.

Outside Spaces

Outdoor Christmas decor can be abundant, or “a little goes a long way.” Your personal style can be reflected in your outdoor decorations as well as inside decorations. One of the most fun and easy ways of adding some splash to your outdoor space this festive season is by giving your front door a holiday makeover. Using natural things like branches, wreaths and holly berries will warm up your entrance. Choosing more colourful baubles and ribbon to frame the door is also appealing. Displaying some delicate, sparkly ornaments in your windows will also delight passersby. ‘Tis the season to be creative!

On The Porch

If you’re lucky enough to have a home with a porch, decorating it with things like Christmas urns full of branches, ribbons, bows and berries would make your outdoor space look wonderfully festive. Add some twinkle lights to give everything a crystalline glow!

Moving Inside

A staircase is a great place to add loads of holiday cheer. Decorating the guardrails and finials with garland and lights will give the entire area a warm ambience. And if your ceilings are high, get the tallest, most majestic tree you can find and decorate it to make your whole space shine to the delight of family and guests alike!

DIY

Candles are the most cost-efficient way to light up your holiday world! Creating your own, special candle holders is as easy as one, two, three. Affix some seasonal tree branches that have been sprayed with glitter to inexpensive glass votive holders. They’re a lovely addition to a mantel or holiday table.

Making The Mantel Merry

Many times the focus of a living room is a fireplace and its mantel can really be decked out with holiday decor. All things sparkling do well on a mantel. Your mantel’s Christmas outfit could consist of candle holders, oversized bows, ornaments, and of course – remember to hang the stockings with care!
