It’s always nice to dream about that total home renovation of your Pinterest board dreams. However, the price tag that comes along can often be daunting and deter our fantasies. Believe it or not, this doesn’t have to be so, as there are many easy and inexpensive ways to upgrade your home! Here are a few of our favourite ideas to update your home!
Wainscoting for Less
Wainscoting is a staple in so many elegant and regal homes. However, getting the look can be rather expensive. A fantastic alternative on a budget is to use picture frames to achieve the look. Everyday Tea Party
Use unexpected items, such as a cake stand, to hold ordinary items such as dish soap and sponges. Additionally, you can use a vintage tea cup to hold your jewelry in the washroom.
Two is Better Than One
A unique and unexpected twist on bathrooms is to dress a shower or tub the way you would a window. Use two shower curtains instead of one! This creates an instant uplift and air of class.
Alternative Painting
If you’re tired of the same old monochromatic walls, why not switch it up? Many home décor magazines have touted painted accent ceilings or even walls that are only painted ¾ of the way up. This is a fun and inexpensive way to breathe life into an old room.
Picture Perfect
Another creative way to use picture frames is around light switches and televisions. As mentioned with our wainscoting idea, appropriate picture frames can easily be found at your local dollar store! Just super glue them around the switch or TV, and paint to match the wall or use a fun accent colour!
Window Revamp
Just as we suggested dressing your tub as a window, we’re going to suggest just that for windows! If you use a curved shower rod, it can create the illusion of a bigger window, and overall opulence!
