2023 Holiday Newsletter

Dec 13, 2022

It has been a year of uncertainty in the world, in our country and in our communities. It’s times like this when we realize what truly matters in life – friends, family, home.

Getting together with our loved ones during the holidays will resonate even more this year. It’s a time to come together, finding joy and appreciating that we and our family members are safe and warm as we gather to make memories.

Enjoy this season of love and light.  All of us at Dunpar send our very best wishes to you and yours for the holidays.

DUNPAR’S JOHN ZANINI FOUNDATION CONTINUES IT”S SUPPORT

The John Zanini Foundation was established to support at-risk youth within the community, by way of shelter, counseling and training and to help children build healthy, successful and empowered lives. It’s a cause that’s very close to John’s heart and a passion he’s to which he is deeply committed.  Here are just a couple of programs the foundation supported this year.

KMA HOLIDAY TOY DRIVE

This was the fourth year for the KMA Holiday Toy Drive in support of the Salvation Army’s Toy Mountain. For the third year in a row, the John Zanini Foundation supported the initiative by collecting donations of new unwrapped toys, gift cards and personal care items in their Etobicoke office as well as at Kingsway Village Square.

The Foundation became involved in association with Joshua Fick, a resident of Dunpar’s Lake Shore Village.  Joshua’s wife Kelly Marie Atyeo, who passed away in 2019 due to illness, loved to help create happy memories for youngsters at this time of year and as a tribute, Joshua wanted to continue her tradition with a toy drive named for her.

The Toy Mountain campaign provides help to GTA families struggling to make ends meet and to brighten the holidays for children in need. This year’s contributions far exceeded those of past year demonstrating the wonderful generosity of the Dunpar family and  Etobicoke community.

The John Zanini Foundation thanks all those who were kind enough to support this important initiative.

CONSTRUCTION COMES TO HIGH SCHOOL

This past year, a group of seven High School students at the Archbishop Denis O’Connor High School in Durham participated in Alex Ladouceur’s Construction Technology program where students are taught the basics of advanced levels of construction knowledge with ambitions of continuing  into the construction industry.

Their final assignment was to build a number of animal shelters which were donated to the Animal North Network https://animalnorthnetwork.ca/, a division of the Ontario SPCA.

the students were first tasked with learning to read and understand the construction drawings, then establishing a work schedule for how they were going to complete the project on time which they successfully did.

With the generous financial support of Dunpar Homes’ John Zanini Foundation, the students were able to take on this outstanding learning experience and take the next step to becoming one of the highly sought after members of the construction industry.

LOWRISE LIVING IN THE BIG CITY

One of Toronto’s most exciting transformations is taking place on St. Clair Ave. West. Lambton Towns is part of this revitalization and buyers are realizing this Dunpar project offers the opportunity to enjoy lowrise living without having to leave the city.

The 94 back-to-back English Georgian Manor- style townhouses, starting at $1.4 million at 2650 St. Clair, boast three-bedrooms, 1,569 square feet, single car parking and rooftop decks. They are ideal for family living and are close to daycares, schools, recreation facilities and parks. The neighbourhood is a more affordable option to downtown and provides easy access to the city core. The 512 St. Clair streetcar stop is a six-minute walk away and there are many other transit options.

St. Clair West’s retail and dining scene is well established and growing. Lambtown Towns’ location also makes it easy to explore ‘hoods such as the Kingsway, the hip Junction and the Stockyards with its breweries, stores and restaurants.

Want connect to nature? Lambton Towns can provide that too, with proximity to the Humber River Recreational Trail, Smythe Park, Marie Baldwin Park (where pooches enjoy the leash-free dog park) and beautiful James Gardens.

Units are still available – check out the Dunpar website for details.
