The John Zanini Foundation, launched a summer-long initiative where children from single-parent households are introduced to the sport of climbing. The program takes place every Monday afternoon during July and August and welcomes more than 30 children between the ages of 8 and 11. More than just recreation, the experience focuses on building teamwork, confidence, and leadership skills—qualities that will serve these children well as they become the community’s leaders of tomorrow.
And because a sense of community extends beyond the climbing wall, each session concludes with a shared dinner catered by Il Fornello from Sherwood Village Mall, provided by Dunpar.
The climbing wall is more than a recreational outlet. For many children, it’s a metaphor for life—challenging, at times daunting, but always rewarding when persistence pays off. Through the support of Dunpar Homes and the John Zanini Foundation, these young participants are learning to push past fear, trust themselves, and rely on teamwork.
Founder John Zanini, an avid climber himself, envisioned this initiative as a way to share his passion for the sport with young people in the neighbourhood. “Climbing builds character, discipline, and confidence,” he explains. “It teaches young people that obstacles can be overcome one step at a time.”
Dunpar’s Commitment to Community
For over 40 years, Dunpar Homes has been more than a builder of townhomes in Etobicoke and pre construction homes in Toronto—we’ve been a partner in community growth. Our projects, from new townhomes in Mississauga to thoughtfully designed commercial space in Etobicoke, are rooted in the idea that homes and neighbourhoods thrive when people within them feel connected and supported.
The Summer Climbing Program reflects this philosophy perfectly. Just as our developments aim to foster belonging, this initiative fosters personal growth and community spirit in young participants. Supporting families through programs like this ensures that while Dunpar continues to create townhomes for sale in Toronto and condo rentals in Etobicoke, we are also building opportunities for children to thrive beyond the walls of our homes.
By sponsoring through the John Zanini Foundation, Dunpar is investing in more than infrastructure—we’re investing in people. This initiative is part of a broader legacy of Dunpar Homes community support, ensuring that children today are given the tools and confidence to become tomorrow’s leaders.
More Than Just Homes
Our founder’s passion for climbing is symbolic of Dunpar’s broader approach: to always reach higher. Just as climbing requires planning, trust, and determination, so too does building vibrant communities. Whether through commercial properties in Toronto, medical office space in Etobicoke, or thoughtfully crafted townhomes for sale in Mississauga, our mission is the same: create spaces where people feel supported, connected, and inspired.
This program demonstrates that growth happens not only in physical communities but also within individuals. The climbing wall may be temporary, but the lessons learned—discipline, courage, and teamwork—will last far beyond this summer.
Looking Ahead
As Dunpar continues to develop new construction in Toronto and expand opportunities through pre construction townhomes in Mississauga, we remain dedicated to programs that elevate lives and create stronger neighbourhoods. Partnerships with organizations like Lamp Community Health Centre and Boulderz Climbing show how business, sport, and community can come together to make a lasting impact.
For the children scaling the walls this summer, each climb is a step toward confidence and resilience. For their families, it’s a reminder that their community stands with them. And for Dunpar, it’s another way of ensuring that we are not only building homes but also supporting the growth of future generations.
From apartments for rent in Etobicoke to townhomes for rent in Toronto, Dunpar’s developments will continue to provide places for families to live. But just as importantly, programs like the Summer Climbing Program ensure that families also have opportunities to grow, connect, and succeed.
At Dunpar, we’re still building—but not just properties. We’re building leaders, opportunities, and a stronger community for all.
